We are proud to announce... The Terlingua Star Park!
Astro Mucho is a West Texas astronomy company based in Terlingua.
We offer guided star tours at The Terlingua Star Park or at your vacation rental.
We're thrilled to show you the cosmos!
Owner and founder of Astro Mucho, Devo fell in love with the night sky long before he picked up a laser pointer. In 2015, while working as a swamper on a Grand Canyon river trip, he was captivated by the senior guide with a green laser who pointed out stars and shared their stories each night. Inspired, he set out to learn the sky himself.
He’s been running rivers since 2002, and the Rio Grande eventually drew him south to Terlingua, where he’s called home since 2018. That same year, he began hosting astronomy programs for Road Scholars, until they canceled the series for being “too late at night.” From there, demand for private stargazing events began to grow, and the dream of offering star tours with the same spirit as river guiding was born.
Devo is a enthusiastic astro communicator. His goal? That guests leave with a greater sense of how special Earth is in the cosmos and how unique humans are, hoping we take better care of both.

Stinger is Astro Mucho's lead telescope operator. With more years on a tube than anyone, she shines from behind an 11" Cassegrain.
After earning her degree in hydrology from University of Arizona, she worked at Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, AZ, waiting for her chance in The Grand Canyon. She started with USGS in The Big Ditch in 2016. That exposed her to the world of river running, which led her summers in Montana, winters in Terlingua, and Astro Mucho.
She loves sharing her passion with others and finds it delightful when people see the Milky Way for the first time.
Tanner has been fascinated by the cosmos since childhood, first becoming aware of the vastness of the universe while growing up in Texas. Like many of us at Astro Mucho, his path to astronomy comes through a passion for sharing the night sky rather than a traditional academic background.
An exceptional astronomy communicator, Tanner’s enthusiasm is contagious, and smiles are guaranteed whenever he’s behind the telescope. When he’s not introducing guests to the wonders above, you’ll likely find him guiding adventures on some of the nation’s most beautiful rivers.
Tony forced himself onto the crew.
THIS IS THE COOLEST THING EVER I WANT TO BE INVOLVED!!!
I've never seen anybody pick up telescope operation as fast as him. A quick learner with no problem collimating, he is an asset to the Astro Mucho team.
He loves merging galaxies, especially Bode's and Cigar.
Cole hails from the mile high city of Denver, Colorado. He's a giver guide by trade, traveling around throughout the year chasing water from Montana to West Texas.
Astro Mucho is Cole's much loved night job and he relishes the opportunity to share the night sky with people while learning more himself.
When Cole isn't wet, he's looking up. He enjoys looking at clouds almost as much as stars. His favorite planet is Uranus.
Reed has lived in Terlingua since 2010. An expert in botany, he's realized there's no money in plants, and has since set his sights on the stars.
Like the rest of us, he loves sharing the night sky with folk. Soft spoken and quick witted, Reed is an expert at hitting you with a joke in the middle of learning something.
Sav is Astro Mucho's marketing & social media director.
She traded the city lights of Los Angeles for the dark skies of West Texas and now spends her time convincing others to do the same, at least for a night.
With a background in nonprofit operations & community development, she helps share everything Astro Mucho has to offer through creative content and social media. She hopes to get more people to look up and discover the stories across the night sky, including her personal favorite, the Qixi tale of Vega & Altair.
